Pilot whales (niser) are here

It has been an exciting couple of weeks in Frafjord. The reason for our excitement (aside from the stellar weather)

is that the pilot whales have been frequenting the fjord, meandering up and down, back and forth, feasting on the schools of fish (such as mackerel) that thrive in these waters.

We have had the pleasure of paddling with and encountering up close the pilot whales, who, although not overly friendly like the dolphins, do not seem to mind our presence and come quite close. As they breach the surface, their blow holes expel water and inhale oxygen, and make quite a curious sound.

We hope they want to chill with us for awhile, making this place that much more magical and exciting. Come join us soon!
